Surgery was a success

The Girlchick had her tonsils out.  They also ended up taking out her adenoids, which made me extremely nervous.  Her original ENT had told us when she had her ear tubes put in when she was 18 months old, to never let anyone take out her adenoids.  They told us that she had a weakened palate and that it would collapse if we took out the adenoids.  Well her new ENT said that wasn't the case and said that he really wanted to take them out.  I'm hoping that letting him take them out will be the right choice.  She has been pretty good, with a few cranky moments here and there.  I think it is a combination of the pain and being stuck in the house.

Here she is right after her surgery.  It was pretty funny, she was sleeping away and all of a sudden she just woke up, she sat up and started trying to pull all the "stuff" off.  The IV, the blood pressure cuff, the pulse/OX finger monitor, the heart monitor leads.  She came up fighting and swing so to speak.  The only way we could distract her was with a Popsicle which she thought was hilarious, since it was still only 8 in the morning and she was having it for breakfast.  Then she wanted another one and ate that one too (which we paid for later, when her tummy was upset)

Still a little groggy, but enjoying her Popsicle.

After she settled down a bit she wanted to lay back down and go to sleep.  She wanted me to climb on the bed with her and snuggle, I'm sure all the doctors and nurses got a big kick out of my big ole' behind hanging off the side of the little pediatric hospital bed.

Snuggling with Mom and ducky.
